Every so often someone comes into your life who changes the landscape forever as you know it. Many of us in Leesburg/Loudoun County found ourselves in this space last year when a young girl named Gabriella Miller was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. At 9 – she didn’t sit back and cry, give up or silence her mouth. Instead, this young lady CHANGED lives, changed policies, changed her perspective on life, love and this thing called – Childhood Cancer. She brought us to tears laughing when just weeks before her death she spoke the words “Talk is Bullshit”. She brought us to tears when she let us know that cancer takes children’s childhood’s away — she moved mountains when she gave speeches at CureFest and Shenandoah University where at age 10 she received her honorary College degree. She left behind a legacy that now her family (mom, dad and younger brother) so proudly carry on.
We at Flow Yoga would like the opportunity to honor the Miller family during Virginia Yoga Week. Her efforts helped raise money and awareness for the Make-A-Wish foundation and other childhood cancer organizations. Gabriella’s legacy continues to live within us in this community, and we would like to show our support for the Millers by hosting a donation class for Smashing Walnuts Foundation. All of the donations collected during this class and for the month of June will go directly to her organization.
You can make a donation at any time during the week – attend one of our FREE classes during the week and join us for the special candlelight yoga class on Saturday, June 14 6pm – Ashburn.
Help us carry on this huge ripple that Gabriella Miller started!
